Here is the energy and environmental monitoring kit, which will arrive at your home very soon. The electricity sensor is the silver box on top left including the blue clamp, which will be clipped around one of your electric meter tails, and will measure the electric current flowing through the meter. It will not affect any existing ‘smart meters’.

The two white boxes on the bottom left are temperature sensors, one of which senses relative humidity. These boxes are to be placed in your living room and on top of your boiler.
The black box on the right is the main hub, which integrates a CO2 sensor, a 3g dongle, SD card and a single board computer. The hub uploads data to a server securely managed by the University of Southampton.
